The leadership crisis in the modern era is marked not only by weak managerial competence but also by declining spiritual depth, emotional stability, and moral integrity. Existing leadership studies often emphasize technical and psychological skills, while the spiritual dimension as a foundation of leadership remains underexplored. This study aims to examine the concept of muthmainnah (peace of mind) as a spiritual and psychological foundation within the framework of prophetic leadership. Using a literature review approach, this study analyzes primary Islamic sources, including the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical Islamic scholarship, as well as contemporary psychological theories such as emotional intelligence, psychological well-being, spiritual well-being, and self-regulation. The findings reveal that the muthmainnah soul in leadership is characterized by three main indicators: firm faith, a sense of security, and inner peace. These indicators are closely aligned with modern psychological constructs related to emotional regulation, resilience, and well-being. This study contributes by integrating Islamic spiritual values with contemporary psychological perspectives, offering a holistic model of leadership that emphasizes inner calm, moral integrity, and emotional stability as essential qualities for leaders in addressing today’s moral and social challenges.
